Privacy Policy

This policy covers Vermont Life, the VT Life iOS app, and related support requests.

Vermont Life is an independent Vermont information project operated by 802 Flamingo LLC. We design VT Life to work without an account and to keep personal app notes on your device unless you choose to contact us.

What the VT Life app stores on your device

The VT Life app may store your selected town, profile preferences, optional home-value inputs used for local tax estimates, 251 Challenge visit progress, and issue-report notes on your device. Issue reports are local notes for your own use. VT Life does not automatically send issue reports to towns, Vermont Life, Go Vermont, or 802 Flamingo.

Optional app permissions

VT Life may ask for camera, photo library, location, or calendar access only when you use a related feature. Photos and issue locations help you keep local issue notes. Calendar access is used only if you choose to add an election date to your calendar. You can decline these permissions and still use the rest of the app.

Information you may send to us

If you contact us through Go Vermont or email, we collect the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, town, correction details, source URLs, support questions, or privacy requests. We use that information only to respond, review corrections, support the app, and maintain data quality.

Network services and third parties

VT Life may make network requests to Vermont Life, Go Vermont, or 802 Flamingo-hosted data services, weather services, Wikipedia, OpenStreetMap map tiles, Google Fonts, and external town or civic websites when you use related features or links. Those providers may receive standard technical information such as your IP address, device details, and request logs.

The VT Life iOS app does not require login, does not include an advertising SDK, and does not use an analytics SDK. The VermontLife.co website may display standard web content and third-party scripts, including advertising scripts if enabled on the website.

How long data is kept

Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app, reset the related app feature, or remove the app from your device. Calendar entries created by the app are managed in your calendar app. Messages you send to us may be retained as long as needed to respond, maintain data quality, keep support history, or meet basic business and legal obligations.

Deletion and privacy requests

For local-only VT Life app data, deleting the app or clearing the related app data removes it from that device. We cannot access local-only app data unless you choose to send it to us. To request deletion of information you have sent to us, contact us with the subject "Data deletion request."

Public civic information

VT Life and related Vermont Life projects may show public civic information such as town names, local officials, public offices, public contact details, events, resources, and links to official town or state sources. If you believe public information is incorrect, please send a correction through the contact link above.
